  Today my husband and I went to this store to buy a down jacket and spent $1,000. However, the manager came over and told me that my husband “returns a lot of items.” This accusation is completely false. My husband has spent close to $30,000 in this store over the past two years and has never had any issues with any previous managers or employees. I looked through his receipts — he has only returned an item occasionally, and only for very reasonable reasons such as the wrong size or wrong color. Sometimes employees even told him, “If it doesn’t work, just bring it back,” or they accidentally ordered extra items and asked him to return them. These are normal returns, not “a lot of returns.” If this white manager Name Grac* truly insists that my husband returns many things, I am more than willing to bring every single receipt to prove our purchases. We have all the records. She is accusing us unfairly, and this feels like slander and defamation. This experience was extremely upsetting and unprofessional. Please investigate this matter seriously. Thank you.

  I spent $1,000 in this store today, but the manager treated me with an extremely poor attitude. I have no idea what I did to offend her. I’ve been coming to this location for two years and have never experienced anything like this. It made me feel very unhappy and uncomfortable. She even falsely accused me of returning items “too often.” I must strongly disagree with this. When the store doesn’t have certain items, your own employees special-order them for me. Sometimes they accidentally order extras, and they tell me to return the additional items. Yet this manager claims that I “love to return things,” which is completely untrue. On top of that, she even told me that I “stayed in the store too long.” If I don’t take my time trying on clothes and checking whether something fits, or learning about the functions of the products, how could I possibly feel confident spending so much money? LL Bean products are not cheap. Is this something a manager should be saying? This feels like discrimination and an abuse of authority. At this point, it honestly feels like a shame to spend money in this store — especially when I spent so much today — only to be treated this way. You really need to be careful with this new manager. Her attitude is terrible, and she treats people differently. I am an older customer, and most LL Bean shoppers are also older adults. No one wants to spend a lot of money just to be treated disrespectfully. I’ve visited many LL Bean stores and have never had such an unpleasant experience. The female manager’s name is Grac** — please stay away from her. I will also be telling the elders in our church not to visit this store anymore. Please be aware. ⚠️ And if the store continues treating customers this way, you will close down sooner or later. Just look at the REI store next door — it has already shut down. I will never shop at this location again.

  I am a plus size person and the store purports to be size inclusive but in reality they only get one or two pieces in extended sizes. To the salesperson credits he did look for me and did offer other options

  I guess it depends on what's your race at this location. I've been in here a few times in the past years and the one experience I had that was good was with a elderly man who was very accommodating when I was looking for a pair of Hoka sneakers. This time I had a lady who had bypassed me several times to help other customers. I'm standing there holding a pair of shoes waiting for her to notice me but she would ignore me and walk away. I finally flagged her down and told her the size I need in the shoe. She comes back gave me the box and a attitude. I had questions about the sizing and the comfort and whether or not the shoe was a good seller in this store and she comes back with condescending remarks such as I don't know your preference. I don't know what's your idea of comfort. Then made faces at me like I was being stupid to ask such questions! In all, it's not a good experience coming into the store and you're better off ordering it online.
