- ALAmanda LorenDec 10, 20252.0I visited the mall yesterday looking for a pair of tights, and I normally shop at Express because they usually have the best ones. When I walked in, there was no one on the floor—just one cashier ringing people up. I searched the store myself and only found a small section with socks. I picked up something that looked like tights, but I wanted to confirm with an employee. I approached a woman who appeared to work there and politely asked, “Excuse me, do you work here?” Her response was rude—she said, “I’m on break,” and went back to being on her phone. The cashier, who witnessed the exchange, looked at me and said nothing. As someone who has worked in customer service, I found this extremely unprofessional. Even if she was on break, she could have simply said she would find someone to help me, or at the very least taken her break in the back instead of standing at the register area on her phone. It wasn’t like I was asking for anything complicated—I just needed to know whether the item was tights or not. After that interaction, I put the item back and walked out. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I won’t be shopping at Express anymore.
