  The guy in the gun area of the store doesn’t seem to know gun laws and who he can and cannot sell to. He was visibly upset to get up and assist us even though he was just on his phone sitting behind the desk, didn’t even greet us when we arrived the area (actually no one said hi or any kind of greeting) I just don’t think he wanted to run a background check

  I went to Academy Sports in Newbern today at around 6/630 pm and I would love to be able to give the store five stars. The sales associates were five star indeed, helping me find what I was looking for. However, the manager, Terri, was absolutely rude and off putting when they called him up to help me locate the item. He stated, "if its not on the shelf, then we don't have it, and she needs to be waiting on someone instead of running around the store looking for something that is not here". Meanwhile, an associate came forth with the item. As a business owner myself, no way this is proper to speak to a customer, or about the sales associates in front of customers. Thank you to the associates that helped me.

  Wonderful customer care! We had an issue that could have ruined our trip to the area but Nick really came through and helped us fix a problem with equipment and even followed up with us.

  Hubby hangs out here while I'm in Hobby Lobby. He's a lot happier in Academy Sports for an hour (or two) than he was waiting in the car! 😉
