- DPDr. PApr 29, 20265.0Excellent on-line ordering and return experience at the store. Not sure why others have left bad reviews. I arrived at 11:20 AM and by 11:35 AM I had returned my items without any issues. The young lady at the register (Assoc # 0886) was very professional and courteous. I also encountered two other associates that greeted me and were very friendly as well. Have been shopping at JCPenney for decades and will continue to do so. Highly recommed this store. Very well stocked, clean and organized.

I purchased a shirt from the Durham location, I don’t have the receipt but the tags are on it and it’s clearly not been worn. I only wanted to exchange the shirt for a smaller size. Not cash back, not a gift card, even if the shirt is now on sale I would not argue for the difference because I understand that I don’t have a receipt. I was told I could not do the exchange or anything. I drove from Southeast Raleigh during 5 and 6 traffic (1 hour one way and 1 hour back) and accomplished nothing. I Tried the customer service number and all they say is policy policy policy. I will never buy anything from JC Penny again. Malls are a dying way to purchase products and making a customer feel like a thief is horrible. I’ll stick to online purchases but NEVER will I purchase anything from JC Penny again.

I believe her name is LaWanda and she was speaking to a young girl, who was obviously a new hire. LaWanda was very condescending and rude. The girl looked very young (maybe even of high school age) and she was respectful towards her. JC Penney needs to do a better job on who they allow to be promoted to leadership roles because that was completely un-called for. I hope the new hire reported her.
