- BSBrandt SolovijNov 22, 20195.0Excellent service and very professional. i opt'd for a voluntary install to be safe on weekend evenings and everything was flawless for about two months. i received a software update and that caused some finicky behavior (wouldnt register use causing a seemingly infinite loop of retesting every 30seconds). the staff were very knowledgable and friendly - i had the device removed until the Smart Start software engineers fix their patching issues, at which time i will have the device reinstalled.

What do I need to bring to my installation?
Bring a photo ID and proof of residence in the form of a document verifying your address. You may also be asked to bring any documents that pertain to your case, depending on the state in which you or your program are located. How does an Interlock Device work?
When you blow into your Ignition Interlock Device, you're providing a breath test sample in order to start the vehicle. The device then measures your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), and will either say that you passed, need to retest, or failed. You will be asked to take rolling retests throughout your drive.

Is an Ignition Interlock the same as a breathalyzer?
Ignition Interlock and handheld breathalyzers both test your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), but an Ignition Interlock Device is only installed in vehicles and prevents the car from starting if there is alcohol detected. A handheld breathalyzer only detects alcohol and may tell you the concentration.
