- MEMae-gan EllisDec 22, 20251.0Encounter Date: 12/22/2025; Transaction Time: 7:30-7:41pm: I placed an online order for in-store pickup and received shoes that were marked and visibly scuffed at pickup. I brought this to the cashier’s attention, and she was attentive, kind, and compassionate, handling the situation professionally by attempting to help and involving a manager. Unfortunately, the interaction with the manager was disappointing. I was met with a dismissive and accusatory attitude, including a comment implying that customers purposely damage shoes to receive discounts; an inappropriate and irrelevant response, especially given that this was an online order, not an in-store or “as-is” purchase. Price adjustment for damaged merchandise was declined, and I was only offered a cleaning, which was done reluctantly and subpar. I expect new, undamaged merchandise with online orders and respectful customer service. While the cashier’s professionalism was appreciated and should be recognized, the overall experience fell short. The manager’s generalized comment about customers abusing the system came across as derogatory, offensive and unnecessary; especially when the item was already scuffed at pickup. The item was a men’s size 13, and I am a woman who wears a size 8.5. Totally inappropriate and very intentional in tone. Corporate or Upper management should review this experience!
