Extremely rude and unreasonable staff.
I was simply standing in to wait to pay.
A staff member came over and spoke to me in a very rude, aggressive, and dismissive way, repeatedly ordering me to move back. Even after I had already stepped back, she walked away and then came back again to confront me further. The repeated and unnecessary attempts to push me away felt humiliating and completely unprofessional.
The problem was not about asking a customer to stand in a certain place.
The problem was her attitude, tone, and manner.
She spoke as if she was scolding someone who had done something wrong. It felt more like a power trip than customer service, as if customers were being treated like offenders and she was acting like an enforcement officer rather than a retail employee.
I was ready to buy the shoes, but after being treated this way, I put them down and left. I will not return to this store and would not recommend it to anyone who expects basic respect from staff.
When I checked this store on Apple Maps, I noticed that it only has a 67% rating. Many other customers had also complained about the same issue: rude, unreasonable, and unprofessional staff, as well as very poor customer service.
That made me realize my experience was not an isolated incident. I am leaving this review on Google as well so that more people can be aware of this before deciding whether to visit this store.

Today at around 11:50 a.m., I was at this store holding a pair of slippers and waiting to check out. There was a customer in front of me dealing with a return/exchange, so I stood behind and waited patiently.
At that point, another staff member spoke to me in a very unfriendly tone and told me to step back, so I moved back as requested. Later, when the customer in front went to change sizes and came back, the same staff member again spoke to me in a very rude and disrespectful manner, using hand gestures to push me further back and essentially driving me away from the checkout area.
The way I was treated felt extremely disrespectful and unacceptable. It made me lose all interest in continuing with my purchase, so I put the slippers down and left the store,never coming back to this store.

I’ve typically had positive experiences with DSW—prices are reasonable, and the staff is usually friendly, especially considering the challenges of working in retail. However, my recent visit to this location was disappointing.
I stopped in to quickly purchase a pair of emergency sneakers after leaving the house without mine. As a full-time fitness coach, sneakers are essential for my job, so I needed something affordable and functional. I found a pair priced at $65 with a purple clearance sticker indicating an additional 20% off, based on the signage posted in the store. I also planned to purchase about $10 worth of socks.
At checkout, the associate offered a 30% discount if I signed up for the loyalty program but refused to honor the 20% discount shown on the tag. He offered to call a manager, but I didn’t have time to wait, as I needed to get to work.
Given the situation, it felt like the refusal to apply the advertised discount may have been influenced by my declining the loyalty program offer and mentioning that I was in a hurry. I understand that employees may be incentivized by sign-ups, but it’s not acceptable to disregard clearly marked pricing to push a promotion.
Overall, this was a frustrating experience, and unfortunately, it has made me unlikely to return.

I placed an online order for in-store pickup and received shoes that were marked and visibly scuffed at pickup. I brought this to the cashier’s attention, and she was attentive, kind, and compassionate, handling the situation professionally by attempting to help and involving a manager.
Unfortunately, the interaction with the manager was disappointing. I was met with a dismissive and accusatory attitude, including a comment implying that customers purposely damage shoes to receive discounts; an inappropriate and irrelevant response, especially given that this was an online order, not an in-store or “as-is” purchase. Price adjustment for damaged merchandise was declined, and I was only offered a cleaning, which was done reluctantly and subpar.
I expect new, undamaged merchandise with online orders and respectful customer service. While the cashier’s professionalism was appreciated and should be recognized, the overall experience fell short.
The manager’s generalized comment about customers abusing the system came across as derogatory, offensive and unnecessary; especially when the item was already scuffed at pickup.
The item was a men’s size 13, and I am a woman who wears a size 8.5. Totally inappropriate and very intentional in tone.
Corporate or Upper management should review this experience!

Most styles are aimed at young women, leaving very little for older women who need a dress shoe that still provides a low heel, nonstick bottom and comfort. Many styles lacked large sizes. Also, prices are higher than at department stores.
