  Wife and I signed up for app and got a code for $15 off. For some reason neither codes worked. They wouldn't override it. They were still very nice but didn't want to even try to help us with issue.

  This place use to be the best! Well it suxs now it’s like it went from an A store to a C store overnight The selection of Fishing supplies was the most anemic I’ve ever seen in an academy sports

  I had a frustrating experience at this store, and unfortunately the biggest issue seems to come from management rather than the employees. I worked in retail for 16 years, so I recognize when management is lacking. The workers themselves were clearly doing their best. They were helping customers, and you could tell they were putting in effort. The store was extremely hot, and the employees were visibly sweating while still trying to keep things running and assist people. I was sweating from the heat by the end of my visit and all I was doing was shopping. I genuinely felt bad for them having the work like that. Something else that stood out to me was I overheard a manager speaking to employees over the headset, and the way they talked to the staff was disrespectful and unprofessional. It was uncomfortable to hear. Above all, the most concerning moment happened when there was a tornado warning during my visit. There were people outside asking to come inside to get out of the storm, and a woman I’m assuming was part of management refused to let them in. Seeing people turned away during severe weather was shocking and felt incredibly inhumane and lacking basic concern for others’ safety. Between the heat in the store, the way staff were being spoken to, and the way the storm situation was handled, it’s honestly surprising they’re able to keep staff under those conditions. I hope the company takes a serious look at how this location is being run, because both the employees and customers deserve much better.
