  I was in with my mother after I left my gym (so in gym attire- high end gym wear and an oversized t shirt so my rear was covered to try to be respectful). My mother was shopping and was spending over $500 in Meridian Belk- which she commented that it looked like a Dirt Cheap in there. I wouldn’t give it that much credit especially seeing that the maintenance of the store was raggedy at best— clothes on the floor, shoes that had been tried on sprawled out everywhere, the restroom- dirty and unkept. Seeing as there were only three shoppers in the store, I assume two of the employees, one named Sabrina, needed some drama to entertain them and started making passive aggressive comments about how I had been there so long and “did you see her”’ “are you watching her”, then Sabrina (I assume some sort of manager) walking up to the cashier checking my mother out as she is purchasing $500 worth of merchandise with Belk, asking the cashier “who is that girl?” The cashier responds that I’m the customer- my mother’s daughter. This is after she and her coworker that were making these passive aggressive comments started following me— continuing their backhanded remarks and nasty attitudes IN FRONT OF MY MOTHER AS SHE IS PURCHASING FROM THIS STORE. I understood that they may have thought I was trying to hide something under my oversized shirt so I pulled my shirt up to my chest to “adjust” my skin tight leggings (twice as expensive as any pair of slacks in there by the way). I “adjusted” multiple times directly in front of both of these sad employees to show that I physically could not have had anything on me. Yet, Sabrina still followed me and my mother to all the way to the exit hoping she’d hear the alarm go off. The only reason me or my mother will ever shop at this Belk is to return the items. I can see why they don’t have any business. They are bad business.

  I always find some good deals on clothes at belk.

  Belk needs help. Only 2 registers open in the whole store on the day I was there. Check out took to much time. The item I was buying was on sale, yet it rang up full price. I had to pull it up in my app to show the cashier.

  Not too bad and far as cleanliness but was hot inside. Also took forever just to get someone to the jewelry counter. Workers were standing around talking and not working.
