No enough associates to help, you are literally hunting for help and then when you take a sale item to the register, they do not honor the pink tag that is clearly on it and act like you did something wrong. I’m so disappointed in this store I use to love shopping here and now I’m just done I’ll go to Dillards or Macys from now on.

Frustration with a recent online order and store pickup experience at JCPenney Springfield MO. (NOT the first time) Unfortunately, the level of customer service I encountered was extremely disappointing. When customers place an online order for store pickup, it’s reasonable to expect a certain level of convenience and assistance EVEN when earlier than the employee stated “ we have 2–3 hours to get an order ready", Guys, the item was already in the building. It seems like a simple solution would be for an employee to radio someone to retrieve the item or take a moment to get it themselves and complete the checkout. Instead, there was no effort made to help or find a solution. What made the situation even more frustrating was the attitude from staff members. There were comments about being “on break" wasting break time or something along the lines and the overall impression was that helping a customer was more of an inconvenience than a priority. Customer service should involve going out of your way to assist people whenever possible, not looking for reasons why something can’t be done right now. Experiences like this make it clear why many feel that JCPenney has been declining over the years and will soon be gone. When customer service is this poor and employees seem overwhelmed or unwilling to help, it leaves a very negative impression and discourages people from shopping there in person or otherwise in the future. By the way, went and "picked" it ourselves and they reluctantly checked us out. I truly hope this feedback is taken seriously. Customers simply want to feel that their time is respected and that employees are willing to help however they can. Friends, if you have nothing to do and just want to waste time, do your thing. Otherwise just shop elsewhere. Pennys is a joke anymore.

Found a few bargains. They were however having a sidewalk sale there were lots of good deals to be had just alot of shoppers to work around. My husband also found a pair of jeans inside the store he had been looking for and could not find anywhere else.
