Only reason it gets 2 stars is because the place itself is amazing. Not dog friendly as they state. We brought our little 12 lb shih tzu with us traveling. Decided to stop in to bass pro to check it out. For the most part nobody cares. There were plenty of other dogs in the place. But we were told that we were not allowed in the gun museum with a dog. Which makes no sense. The entire display is behind glass in a temperature controlled display. So why is my dog who's not bothering anyone or anything gonna hurt anything? The guy basically told me if I wanted to go shop my dog was welcome. But if you wanted to see anything cool. They weren't allowed. If they are allowed? Then allow them. If they're not? Then don't. The guys attitude about it made it that much worse. Like he was looking for someone to kick out. I'll unfortunately never be back.

Whatever you do, don't stop for anyone when entering "Outdoor World". My girlfriend and I were stopped and basically harassed by some timeshare people at the entrance to Outdoor World. Despite us kindly turning down their offers again and again, they keep pushing harder. The woman who started the encounter eventually pushed us up to another gentleman to "see what they could do". Despite numerous more denials, we were met with no end to the harassment. My girlfriend and I, incredibly uncomfortable at this point, had to cut them off to deny any further interest or involvement and walk away entirely. This kind of harassment is completely unacceptable in an environment that is meant to feel safe and "family friendly". I hope someone higher up can have serious talk about ethics with those employees and strive to do better in the future. Rest assured, we will never be visiting this location again and will inform others of this incredibly souring experience.

Bass Pro needs to be more aware of who they’re hiring as employees. A while ago, their “friendly” Santa, James Betherum (as I recently found out is working there) aggressively block my car several times, then flipped me off, then invited me to get out of the car for presumably a fist fight, all unprovoked as far as I knew. I only recognized him since he had printed his Santa offering at the back of his truck. I’m not sure how this level of unhinged/psycho can qualify for any job, let alone for one around kids, but it definitely created a negative association with Bass Pro as well for me.

I usually refrain from posting such content, but I couldn’t resist sharing this incident. I visited Bass Pro World headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, for a quick site inspection. Unfortunately, it’s deer season in Missouri, and they’ve decided to shut down their rifle tube for two weeks during this crucial period. I find this decision utterly nonsensical and disappointing. It’s simply idiotic, and I’m deeply disappointed in Bass Pro.

This Bass pro shop is the granddaddy of them all and it shows it. Tons of amazing things to see and view. Could definitely spend almost a whole day here looking at everything available to see. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable of the area and the store. There is plenty of parking available, also overflow parking across the street from the store. The NRA and archery museum is very cool. Tons of aquariums on the inside of the store with tons of different fish in them. Definitely worth the stop.
