  Walked into this Vans location expecting to browse shoes, not participate in a bizarre personal interview. Before we even had the chance to look at a single item, all three employees were sitting up on the register counter like they were auditioning for a “too cool to work here” photoshoot instead of… you know… actually working. They immediately stopped us and asked, “Can we ask you a few questions?” which we assumed would be something normal like helping us find a size. Instead, the questions quickly turned intrusive and uncomfortable. They asked if my boyfriend and I were dating, then asked how old we were, and finally asked if we wanted to go out for drinks. Yes—while they were on the clock, working retail, talking to customers they had just met. It was incredibly weird and inappropriate. We came in to shop, not to be interrogated about our relationship status and personal details by a group of employees who seemed far more interested in trying to act predatory than doing their actual jobs. The whole interaction felt uncomfortable and unprofessional from start to finish. It raises a serious question about what kind of workplace culture allows employees to treat customers like this while they’re representing the brand. Customers shouldn’t have to feel creeped out or interrogated just for walking into a store. Do better with training and hiring. This was easily one of the most uncomfortable retail interactions I’ve had, and it definitely ensured we won’t be returning to this location.

  Unfortunately a rude, super disrespectful and lying clerk assisted me. 10 out of 10 would not recommend.
