Master Framers is a full-service custom frame shop populated by eager problem solvers. Can't find that perfect frame? Have damaged artwork? Or want that family frame restored? We would love to help you find your solution.
Starting in the 70's, Roger Nielsen bought an abandoned warehouse in Lowertown, St Paul. A neighborhood that was, as he remembers, mostly winos and pigeons. The building now known as 262 Studios was renovated into affordable artist housing and Master Framers. So began a thriving artist community that still exists today.
A passion for art and framing took the frame shop beyond traditional chop & join services. Master Framers became experts at hand-finishing and hand-carving frames as well as painting/frame restoration.
Excellent service, would trust them with anything you want framed, very transparent pricing and provide good options for all budgets

I have taken two frames here to be restored. I was very happy with the first restoration, but on the second restoration I was disappointed with the outcome. They didn't bother patching up some spots that has broken off from the drake and painted over these spots with paint that doesn't match the original Matte finish which makes these spots stick out like a sore thumb. I spent several hundred dollars on both restorations. Wish I hadn't taken the second frame in at all now.

I have been informed by Master Framers that I "am not a customer", which is unfortunate given the recent print my grandmother gave me, which I was looking into framing. I prefer to hit local joints when possible, and I'm frequently in the neighborhood on business with the liquor store next door, but since I "am not a customer of Master Framers", I suppose I'll go to Hosko's instead.
