- TBTom BlumerSep 9, 20255.0I bought a new pair of insulated chest waders in November of 2024 but I didn’t get a chance to wear them until September of 2025 and I got sores on both of my calves from the sharp edges inside of the waders where the boot is attached to the neoprene of the waders. I was wearing jeans and long socks but the edge of rubber had square sharp edges that rubbed sores in my calves when I was wading in a river walleye fishing. I took the waders into the Cabelas in Owatonna where I bought them from and explained to them that I had only worn the waders once ( tags still on them ) and they gave me full credit towards another pair of waders. They said normally they only offer a 60 day return but since they could tell the waders were still in new condition they had no problem letting me return them. I call that excellent customer service. I bought another pair of more expensive chest waders that don’t have any sharp edges on them. The chest waders that I returned were the 600 gram insulated camo prairie wings boots. The new ones of the same exact model that that have in stock all had the same sharp edge on the inside of the waders so I didn’t want another pair of that model.
