This time, we went to get custom shoelaces—seeing that the store was busy, we waited for a couple of minutes before we saw an employee, totally understandable. By the time we saw someone in the floor in the shoe section, I couldn’t tell if the employee saw me or not, so I smiled and waved from the shoelace section, and she immediately snapped, stating that she was “helping three other customers right now.” Um, okay, but how was I supposed to know if she knew that I was waiting to get help? Again, not her fault that the store was busy or the fact that the store management decided to have less people on deck following the holiday season, but a “let me finish with these people, and I’ll get back to you” or “I see you, but I’ll be right back” would have been just fine. The guy who helped with the actual shoelaces (Shannon) was incredible nice and helpful when we were deciding between shoelace lengths!
