  I don’t think I’ve ever left a bad retail review for a store ever and especially not the twelve oaks mall location. I worked in this mall for 6+ years before my current career and know how retail can be. However, the customer service I received by this staff associate needs to be addressed. I came into vans to purchase a black beanie and the associate that was “helping” me Nathan said they didn’t have any black left. He looked in the back for a minute and didn’t find anything. I said not a problem I can order it and pick it up in store next week because I already have another order somewhere else I need to pick up. He ordered my beanie and then a couple hours later he filled my order and within a couple days cancelled my order. I told him I wouldn’t be in until next week to pick it up and without notice it was cancelled. The following week I looked at my email and when I called to ask what happened the same associate Nathan picked up and said “yeah when you left I actually found it in the back and filled the order. I know I said we’d hold it until you came in next week but because I filled it right after you that day it needed to be canceled sooner.” Like what? Because you didn’t look hard enough the first time it’s my problem? He was already rude when I came in which I let slide but now he’s wasting people time because he doesn’t want to do his job correct the first time. I live 20 minutes away and work full time. I don’t have time to turn around and drive out to mall after I leave because an associate doesn’t do their job correctly the first time AND is rude on top of it. Also, nobody deserves poor service consistently from the same person. If you don’t care about giving customers good service maybe retail isn’t for you....I LOVE this vans store normally and Loui (dude with long curly hair) usually helps me and he is great to work with and always hooks us up with AMAZING service! And, even the last time I came in the other associates were great too. If it wasn’t for the other employees I wouldn’t come back. 5 Stars to Loui & I hope this review helps resolve this issue for other customers that come to Vans Novi.

  Just called on the phone asking about snowboard boots and was very helpful to know I could buy them online and they let me know that. Thank you again and I will be in person shopping here soon as they always have very attentive staff and a great array of products for sale!

  My son is a vans fans, full hat collection I usually have such a good vibe by vans employees. Today not so much, he kept looking over like we were going to steal something. Everything I picked up and wanted was placed at the register. The guy at the register seemed over it and not very personable. I’m use to such a cool atmosphere at the vans store this guy should be at Nordstrom, way too uptight to be in a skating store.
