A licensed mechanic confirmed that the Smart Start device is draining my car battery, which causes false tampering alerts. Each of these incidents has cost me reset fees, lawyer fees, secretary of state fees, court time, and temporary license suspensions — all because of a malfunctioning device. I recently called the Smart Start number provided after posting my review and spoke with a representative named Laura, but the call was disconnected and I didn’t receive a follow-up. This has been stressful, expensive, and unfair for someone who is doing everything right. I’ve filed a formal complaint with the Michigan Attorney General and hope this issue gets serious attention.
