I contacted Ford's to rent a tent, tables, chairs and a dance floor. We were making arrangements from Dallas. The party was in May.
We gave the deposit and was all set. My event unfortunately had to cancel due to a time conflict. I called and sent an email in January to advise them of what was happening. I called on a Wednesday and they were closed but the owner still answered the phone. He told me to call back and leave a message. He said he would refund me the deposit since I cancelled 5 months in advance. I was so happy. My husband called back and all of a sudden the story changed he started talking a bit loud "thats not what I said!!" So I called back and talked to him and told him that he had agreed to give me the deposit back and he said no he didn't. After a few back and forth, I told him that I would keep everything except the dancefloor and he went off on me. I mean yelling. He said " I lost business because you had it booked. That's not how things work". So, I was just removing the dance floor from my order and he refused. I told him it is sad that a man can't keep his word.l nowadays . After all this, he then tells me, if he rents the dance floor, then he would consider the refund . Again, since he not a man of his word, I don't believe he would ever tell me if rented the dancefloor or not. I told my mother in law that lives in Flushing what happened. Apparently, that's where they get their tents and will immediately stop using them and their friends as well. Really bad customer service. He only cares about money!
I want to emphasize that I was still going to go through with the order minus the dance floor. I ended up releasing everything to him since he did not want to rent me anything.
