I know Cabela’s has gotten a bad rep for overpricing and that may be true but i am not writing this review based on the company. I am writing this for Master of Arms Tattoo Rob at the dundee store.I REALLY appreciate you selling me my first rifle so i could hunting with my dad for the first and last time. My dad passed shortly after and i wasn’t able to get the bullets in a timely manner. you held the bullets for me for a good while and i really appreciate that. Rob is a good man and you should keep him around.

Stood around for at least a half hour looking to buy a rifle and not one single person bothered to see if I needed anything. Had five people working and only two people making a sale. I guess I'll take my money elsewhere since they don't want to sell a gun

Total bummer! Haven't been here since Bass Pro bought them and it definitely has been "Bass Pro'd". Selection has dwindled significantly and no reason to ever come here again when I have my own Bass Pro near me to be disappointed with.

I gave Cabela's in Dundee two stars. I would have given them one star, but for one thing and you will need to read the review why I gave them two stars. Several weeks ago I wanted to purchase a CZ-75BD which retails at Cabela's for $829.99. I checked on the day before I went the availability of the firearm on Cabela's' website. Their website stated that they did have the CZ-75BD was in stock. Went with a couple of friends, it is about a half hour from my home. Walked in and went into the firearm department. I found the case with CZ handguns. A Cabela's employee walked up and asked me if I was interested in anything. Now I am unsure what had made him so pissed off: maybe his dog died, maybe his eggs were cold at breakfast. I do not know, but he was angry about something. I asked him if I could handle a polymer CZ( I cannot remember the model). I just wanted to feel the grip and I did not like it. I then asked to see the CZ 75BD. He snarled at me was their one in the case? I told him no. He walked off, I suspect to access the inventory on a computer. I did not watch because I was a bit irritated by this time. I am looking at the gun case and again, he snarls we do not have any and walks away. I was done at this point. One of my friends was looking at rifles behind the counter and a different clerk just stared at him. My understanding the clerk was about 10 feet away from him. The clerk never did ask him if there was something that he was interested in and did he want to look at anything. We pretty much had 100% bad service in the 15-20 minutes we were in Cabela's. Now why I gave Cabela's two stars and not one. I went to another gun store. Which is a small local gun store. They had a CZ 75BD for $679.29. Thank you Cabela's for saving me $151.00 due to your poor customer service As one can see Cabelas responded right away to my original complaint. Cabelas' customer service wished me to provide my contact info to a provided email address. I really was not sure if I was going to respond or not as I just did not want to go through the hassle. I then decided why not? I am curious how Cabelas handles a customer complaint. And the following will be what I encountered from Cabelas customer service. I provided my info and received a reply quite quickly I am sure it was an automated reply for a couple of reasons. One it was late on a Friday night and it was written like it was a form response. It basically said we are sorry and someone should be contacting you within three days. The response also stated that if you had not heard from anyone in three days. Please contact us again. When I sent my email, I did not include phone. I got another email stating that they wanted my phone number as well. That response was the 20th of February. I thought the statement, “Please contact us again” was a bit odd. The 23rd of February which is Tuesday rolls around. All I have heard is the sound of crickets from Cabela's customer service and it is the 6th of March. I received poor customer service from the store in the first place. I would think Cabelas customer service would want to make contact with me right away. Not, well if you do not here from us make sure you contact us again. All I can say is wow. If there was any chance of me walking into a Cabelas or a Bass Pro Shop is zero now. In the big picture, me no longer ever buying anything from them is not a huge imposition on Cabelas/Bass Pro Shops. To whom ever reads this. I would recommend if you ever are interested in an item that is at Cabelas and another store carries that item. I would go to the other store first. I have worked in retail for more years then I wish to admit. Cabelas' customer service is certainly subpar. My first inclination was not to respond to their response. I should have paid attention to that inclination. Cabela's even have my phone number and I hardly ever give that out to anybody. I am just baffled by Cabelas not so good customer service.
