I purchased a small frame 22 for Christmas, after getting it home I noticed a flaw in the design that wouldn't allow the pistol to cycle. When I went in for help I was treated like a bother and called a lier. I am a registered Maine Guide with an operating business of over 20 years along with being a registered FFL. with no help and no support from the manager on duty I will no longer be sending my sports to shop there to avoid any situation like this in the future.

I guess they don't cater to the salt of the earth working man anymore. They are more geared towards folks who are more worried about the name on their label than truly being outdoors. Took hub to buy a muzzle loader and was surprised they give you a whole questionnaire. Worse, it's in legalease and hard to understand. That 2nd question made no sense as it asked if you are purchasing the firearm for someone described in questions 3-14... Which are all questions about the buyer, so thought 'Yes' is the answer. Nope! So to help y'all out because even having that for a muzzleloader is ridiculous the answers are, 1. Yes 2-14. No Have a good day and serious, if you wre here looking for firearms... Just drive the extra hour to Kittery Trading post. Huge selection AND lower prices!

Great holiday experience. The store was beautifully decorated for the season, with extra activities for the kids (including photos with Santa). With sales clearly advertised and shelved well stocked, it made shopping easier and fun.

Horrible customer service. If you are a female purchasing a gun here be prepared to be ignored. When male customers cut in line(have not checked in on kiosk or anything) and just start asking questions they will get priority over you, while you a female is constantly pushed to the side during the whole process that you are already checked in for and in the middle of trying to complete a purchase... Not one man was ignored, but I was. My first gun purchase at Cabela's is now my last. They told me my firearm needed one final check and that they would call my name when it was ready. I watched them check out 5+ men while other employees stood around and did nothing, the whole time I could see my gun on the counter, because they had told me to wait for my name to be called but nobody was calling my name, at that point, so I just assumed that maybe no one was even doing the final check. I finally got up and asked for my purchase, to my surprise, it was ready and just had been sitting on the counter that whole time. When I said I was upset because I had been waiting for my name to be called and no one called it, the cashier tried to argue with me and say well we're calling you now and I'm like what do you mean, I came up here on my own because I saw the box sitting there... He finally gave me a quick little sorry but I was beyond upset at that point. Cabela's employees will argue with customers and then when they realize they're wrong they just give a weak apology after I'm already too upset, making me never want to come back there. This wasn't my first bad experience at this Cabela's gun counter, but it will be my last... let's just say the first visit nobody even ever spoke to me because I couldn't get any help. They see a woman and they just ignore you!!! P.S enjoy this photo I took while walking around the store... I thought it was very weird, at first glance, it looked nefarious and my husband thought the same thing when I sent him the photo.

Purchased a firearm. 9/4/25. Was told it could take up to three months to get the actual gun. I used my credit card that day. Not sure why they had me Pay for a firearm before I was approved by the FBI. Anyways, I was placed on pending. I went back 3 weeks to see the status because I hadn't heard anything. I was told by an associate Allen, they call when they get more information and it could be three months. I go back 12/11/25. Which is 3 months and some change. I go to the gun area and the man waits on me couldn't find me in their system even with my ID.. It turns out that the system kicks you out after a month of pending. He then stated he would see I'f the firearm I paid for was even in the building. About 4 mins pass he comes from the back. All my information is on the firearm. I never received any communication by phone, mail, cyber or paper. He stated I could reapply? After 3 months? Are you serious. I could have sued since I technically owned the weapon. I have a receipt and the waiting period was already gone by in Maine. I decided to take the high road get a refund. They weren't even fazed just here you go. It must happen a lot! For a gun store you suck at selling guns and communicating if there is an issue. If the computer kicks out people after a month stop telling them it could take 3, and stop having people pay before they are approved!
