My service tech, Rick, his expertise and knowledge of the system that was installed was right on. Unfortunately, the people at interlock dropped the ball and was unable to get the equipment. They are on time which caused quite a bit of issues for myself when I’ve reached out to them. I was disrespected by my representative at interlock I would recommend the establishment for installation, but I would recommend you to use another breathalyzer company

I went to this dealership to get my Intoxalock calibrated. In conversation I realized I was grossly overcharged by my original installer Extreme Audio. Lloyds Auto would have installed my Intoxalock with camera for $250, the price I was originally quoted. Extreme Audio charged me $360 cash only for my install. Also in seeking calibration, Extreme Audio would have charged me $35 cash only, where Lloyds Auto charged me $20 for the calibration and I used a credit card. I’m really not sure who is responsible for over seeing dealership pricing at Intoxalock but be aware of dealerships pricing and definitely shop around. Lloyds Auto complies with the Intoxalock recommendations on installation and calibration pricing. I wish I had known and gone to them originally. Lesson well learned. Shop around before installing the Intoxalock device.
Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock
How does an interlock device work?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.
What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
How do I use my interlock device?
Using an IID is simple. To start your vehicle, blow into the device as directed. If the device detects no alcohol, your car will start. You may be prompted for "rolling retests" while driving, where you’ll blow into the device again to confirm compliance. How-to videos are also available on the Intoxalock mobile app.

What happens if I fail a breath test on my ignition interlock device?
If you fail a breath test, your vehicle will not start, and the device will log the event. Depending on your state’s regulations, multiple failed tests may trigger additional penalties, such as lockouts or reporting to your monitoring authority. Intoxalock devices allow you to retest after a short wait if alcohol is no longer detected. Always follow your state’s guidelines to remain compliant.
Can I install an ignition interlock device in a vehicle I don’t own?
