  Last month, I had the most amazing customer service experience at this store. One of the team members, Mimi, was super kind, friendly, patient and incredibly knowledgeable about Madewell jeans. No exaggeration, with Mimi’s help I think I tried on at least 20 pairs. I wanted to give up early on but with Mimi’s encouragement, I was actually able to buy two pairs of jeans. I am so thankful for Mimi‘s support and kindness. If I could give her 10 stars, I absolutely would. Thank you Mimi! 🤍🤍

  I walked into your Portlamd ME store feeling very excited ! Madewell has always been one of my favorite brands! I have not worn jeans on many years, buying hundreds of pairs from other stores, nothing fit me correctly. I then met Hanna! The most patient, understanding and kind sales associate i have ever met ! Hannah took the time to assess my body shape, listen to my needs and sit with me to try on all of the jeans she suggested! Hannah was so right on, I purchased every pair she picked for me ! It changed my life and I am now wearing jeans! THANK YOU HANNA! YOURE THE BEST!

  I visited this store looking for a new belt, and the customer service was surprisingly poor. One associate saw me walk up, whispered an awkward greeting, and continued folding clothes without offering help. I had to initiate the conversation just to get basic assistance. Her colleague downstairs at least acknowledged me, but the overall atmosphere felt indifferent. She eventually showed me a few belts, but by then the tone was already set. I left without buying anything. In retail, customers shouldn’t have to chase down help—associates should be proactive and welcoming. Personal challenges happen, but they don’t excuse ignoring customers. This visit fell far short of what I expect from Madewell.

  I recently moved to portland and madewell is now my favorite store! Ellie was so so helpful, knowledgeable, and energetic throughout my experience! the rest of the staff was kind too. Stylish and modern clothing selection and the most human shopping experience i have had in a while. much love to the madewell team for helping to make portland a happy home!

  You don’t get a full refund at all at this place, I was not informed by the fact that everything is final sale and was told that my clothing could be returned within 30 days of purchase with receipt. If you’re going to purchase from here, be aware that you’re basically never getting a refund on your card unless you did not wear the item at all. The best they got for you is “store credit” but quite frankly I just want my money back. Pretty amusing, really.
