  A Maine Treat, LL Bean's flagship store will always be a destination unto itself. They have good quality clothing, accessories and gear for every outdoor activity imaginable. We could hours just exploring the different floors.

  Disappointed in the shoe selection. I selected 4 pairs of women’s boots to try on and they had none in stock in my size 9; the salesperson first brought me 3 pairs that weren’t even the same shoes I asked to see. Then she came back and said all they had in any of the 4 boots I selected was size 6 or 11. Very little options for mid-range sizes for a flagship store. It would be helpful if they at least kept 1 size on hand to try on and then I could have ordered online.

  Let me begin by saying: this place is basically Disneyland for dogs who enjoy the finer things in life—like sticks, fleece, and the faint smell of adventure baked into every aisle. First Impressions The doors opened and I was hit with a wall of scents so complex it could be a perfume: Eau de Moose, Whisper of Boot Leather, and a top note of “Someone Definitely Ate a Snack in Here.” I inhaled deeply. My human said I looked “overstimulated.” I call it “professionally engaged.” 🐕 The Vibe Everyone here acts like they’ve been waiting their whole lives to meet me. Employees: “Hi buddy!” Me: “Yes, I am buddy. Thank you for noticing.” There are kids, flannel-wearing dads, outdoorsy lesbians, and tourists who look like they’ve never seen a dog before but are thrilled to pretend. I accepted all compliments graciously. 🛶 The Giant Boot I approached the giant boot outside with caution. Is it a shoe? Is it a house? Is it a warning? I sniffed it thoroughly. No threats detected. 10/10 landmark. The Merchandise Let me tell you: SO. MANY. THINGS. I COULD CHEW. - Duck decoys (realistic enough to get me in trouble) - Fleece blankets (I deserve at least three) - Dog beds that cost more than my dignity - A whole wall of treats I was not allowed to sample, which feels like a policy oversight My human said we were “just browsing.” I said “live a little.” Customer Service A woman knelt down, scratched behind my ears, and said, “You’re such a good boy.” I don’t know her name, but I would die for her. 🧾 Final Thoughts If you are a dog who enjoys: - Being adored - Sniffing 400 new smells per minute - Watching your human debate whether they need another flannel (they do) - Feeling like a rugged Maine woodsman without actually hiking …then the L.L.Bean Flagship Store is your spiritual home. I give it 5 stars, 2 paws up, and one very enthusiastic tail helicopter.

  The L.L.Bean Flagship Store is always a great experience. The store is spacious, well laid out, and fun to explore, whether you’re shopping or just browsing. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the quality of the products is consistently excellent. It’s a must-visit spot in Maine and a place we enjoy going back to again and again.

  *After getting the response below, I emailed customer service AS DIRECTED and sent photos of the slippers in question. It's been over three weeks and I have not received a response yet. Clearly L.L.Bean is nowhere near the company it used to be. Honestly this whole situation just saddens me deeply. L.L.Bean used to be an amazing symbol of the hard work ethic of Mainers and was something to actually be proud of. This Christmas I had a bunch of presents to buy that I would have driven to Freeport for, to purchase from LL Bean. This year spent ALL of my money elsewhere and will continue to do so. You guys just lost a whole Maine family of 20 that's been buying from you religiously for our entire lifetime. Shane on you guys. 45 years doing business here because they used to sell a quality product that they stood behind. I buy some $80 slippers and wear them around the house for 6 months and the stitching just starts to come apart and they won't exchange them, what a joke. It's a defective product with bad stitching that I got 6 months of use out of. Now that I know they don't stand behind their products anymore I definitely won't be spending the extra cost to buy the L.L.Bean brand. If I'm going to buy slippers that fall apart after 6 months I'll just spend 20 bucks on them thank you very much. One college kid with horrible customer service immediately just said no before even handling them. There is no excessive wear at all. The ridiculous part of this is that I did contact customer service and they wouldn't even look at them. I said I would be happy to send photos and the agent was supposed to get me an email address to send a picture of them to. But then they just got on the phone and said no without ever even seeing the slippers. I can guarantee you one thing and that's the owner would be rolling over in his grave to know about this situation. It goes against everything he started your company for.
