  I visited the Guerlain counter inside Nordstrom on a Monday morning, when the store was nearly empty. I am not a frequent makeup shopper and typically purchase once a year, so I came with a clear plan. I had already completed purchases at Chanel and Dior, and intended to continue at the same shared counter by purchasing a foundation from Clé de Peau Beauté and a primer from Guerlain. I waited at the Clé de Peau section for quite some time without any assistance, while three associates on the Guerlain side were chatting. When I approached, before I even said anything, one associate addressed me in Mandarin in an impatient tone asking, “What do you want?” I responded in English, “I’m looking for a primer,” but was then asked, “Which brand are you looking for?” while I was already standing directly at the Guerlain counter. The tone remained unwelcoming throughout. At that point, I chose not to continue and instead completed my purchase at Tom Ford, where the service was professional and attentive. My experience at Chanel was also excellent. This was not a communication issue, but a service attitude issue. As a customer who had already made purchases and came with clear intent to buy more, this experience was disappointing. Service isn’t about selecting customers — it determines where customers choose to spend.

  I was in the market for a new Tory Burch bag. Walking into Nordstrom I had no idea what style or color I wanted. I was immediately greeted by Letitia. Usually I don’t like help from store associates, but she completely changed my shopping experience! She welcomed us with a warm smile and offered me help. She showed many different styles and options. You could tell she was very knowledgeable and wanted to help me find the right purse for my lifestyle! They didn’t have my bag in stock in store but no worries she took care of everything and even shipped the bag to my house for me. If anyone is in the market for a new bag I highly recommend Letitia, not only is she sweet, kind, and caring, she is very knowledgeable and will help you with the whole process. Thank you Letitia, we will be back and will be purchasing more items thanks to you!

  My Favorite location in all of the DMV. I hope they keep this location up for a very long time. I always shop here, rather than the Tysons and other locations, way more convienent, and reliable.

  I had a horrible experience with their store manager, Christina. She was very disrespectful; who does she think she is? It is just a normal store.

  I went here for a new fragrance. The lady who “helped” me was short and cold. She was trying to spray perfume on me directly and I asked her to spray a card. She shrugged and grabbed a card and walked off. No explanation or name. I had to ask her which Idole fragrance it was. I asked her if there samples and she gave me a random sample that I was not interested in. Then she said bye and walked off. I was prepared to make a purchase, but I left the store. I don’t even know her name. Horrible customer service; this woman was not interested in helping me, so I will spend my money elsewhere.
