Today I had the pleasure of observing an interaction between an associate and a child with additional support needs. Hayden (Lego associate) approached a mom and a child Who is nonverbal. But used his iPad to communicate. He greeted mom with a smile and quickly got down to the child’s level And asked him what he was looking for. He patiently waited while the little boy opened his iPad and typed out “numbers”. Hayden excitingly let the boy know that he did have a number set and went to go grab it. The little boy’s face light up and Hayden went on with his day. It would’ve been so easy for Hayden to just talk to the mom and let it be. And while this absolutely looked like it was just natural behaviour for Hayden, It absolutely has been some of the most inclusive customer care and service I have ever witness. I walked out of the store with tears in my eyes and was so excited to share this experience with my girlfriend as we carried on with our day. Kudos to Hayden and the entire Winnipeg LEGO team for always just having the best customer service.
