- ILIce Nails LLC5 days ago1.0I was literally shopping at Nordstrom Rack in Harahan and was followed around the store by both a clerk and separate security the entire time. As soon as I walked in and looked at the sunglasses, the clerk immediately approached me asking if I needed help and even offered to put glasses on hold for me while I continued shopping. After that, she continuously followed me throughout the store and kept asking only me if I needed help, while other customers including white customers making a mess and touching everything were completely ignored. It became extremely uncomfortable because it was obvious I was being watched. Employees stood at the corners of aisles watching every move I made and kept trying to force awkward conversations with me while I was simply shopping for perfume quietly and minding my business. Then when I went to look at clothes for my children, a large security guard continuously walked back and forth pretending to look at random things everywhere I went. I am a professional woman and was honestly astonished by how obvious it was. I had already spent hundreds of dollars in the store, yet I was still the only person being followed around. I have repeatedly noticed Black shoppers being treated this way there while other races are left alone to shop in peace. The behavior was humiliating, uncomfortable, and unacceptable.
