Good store and restaurant selections. The parking lot is adequate. However, the parking lot entrance is horrible during peak times. It feels like too many vehicles are being herded into too few traffic lanes, with shortly timed traffic signals. Can be a nightmare for the unfamiliar and uninitiated.

Oxmoor Mall has a pleasant appearance and looks clean and bright. However, every time I visit there I get annoying solicitations from one store (it’s a spa). The store has an employee standing at their doorway attempting to get passerby’s to come into the store by talking and handing out literature to them. It feels like a peddler or hawker in Tijuana. This is America and I have not seen this kind of pushy sales tactics before in my community. The mall management has not been successful in controlling this situation as it has been reported many times. Or, perhaps, the mall management doesn’t care about customers feeling uncomfortable with this kind of pushy sales tactics. Who wants to be accosted when shopping?

This complaint is for mall security and Oxmoor management. So far, I’ve reached out about 5 times since September 1. I am either ignored or given some unthoughtful snippet meant to satisfy, but I have not been given an answer to meet customer service expectations nor my concern. I was shopping one night about a month ago and left bath and body works when they closed at 8 and headed to Macys since my maps app said it was open until 9. I was approached by a mall security officer who told me that the mall was closed and I was not allowed to walk toward Macy’s. Is this a part of the policy? There were several other people still shopping inside of stores, in the walkways, seated on chairs, etc. so I don’t know why I was stopped simply because I was walking down the hallway. It felt like I was doing something wrong even though I wasn’t. I also witnessed customers walking into the mall on my forced way out, but there was no security guard at the doors blocking them from entering so I would like to know why I was rushed out. When I asked the guard he told me it was because I said I was walking. He asked if I was waiting on anyone else and I told him that is not his business. Why should that matter? Since when does mall security need to know who I am shopping with? How come people are allowed to actively remain inside stores after closing and are not asked to leave but me simply trying to walk to Macy’s to at least read the hours on their doors seemed to be a problem? I want to know if it’s part of mall policy for the guards to stop people, question them, and hound them to leave the mall. He was rude and seemed to be on a power trip. I really want to know why I felt singled out and why customers are allowed in after 8 when I was singled out and asked to leave.
