Let me just preface this review with the fact that this story isn’t directly about me, so I don’t need a response from the business apologizing to me. I am speaking up for the young lady who was trying on clothes herself. I am writing this to spread awareness that people have views that are all over, so despite someone’s reasoning not making since to you, it could to someone else. I was in the store around 1:15 today, so you can use this for reference when you hopefully address this with your employees working the fitting room. I was trying on clothes when I heard someone talking (with judgement) about what clothing sizes a young lady picked to try on. She was complaining about the fact that someone chose sizes 8,10, and 12. The tone of the conversation was negative because she was upset about having someone’s clothes to put back. Saying things like “who would need this many sizes” and “I bet she didn’t even try all of them on”. My response to that is first off, you’re rude for commenting about someone’s sizes when you don’t even know if she’s still in the fitting room and/or store. Next, you are being paid to do a fitting room job. If you don’t like it then go find another job that suits your likes and dislikes better. No one is holding you hostage. Finally, have you stopped to think that she, like many of us, could have gained a little weight and was struggling to find a size that fits her body given the new fall season? Why make comments with your own rude judgement that could discourage someone from finding clothes that make them feel good in their own body? I find it quite relatable to pick out a few sizes and see what you like. At the end of the day, despite the differing opinion you might have, you are paid to put clothes away. Maybe do the bare minimum and remember we are all human and do things for our own reasons. Leave the judgmental comments at home and make the store a place where people can feel good getting something new. Without customers, you don’t have a job. It’s a shame that kindness is now a skill that has to be taught on the job, but that’s the way it is. Be better American Eagle employees.
