Sell good products at fair prices and make it easy for the customer to get what they need/desire. The true measure of customer service comes into play when things are not easily done and don't go as expected. How owners, managers & employees handle the special circumstances is what shows their true colors. As a long time customer of Cabelas Louisville KY Boat Center, I have had some satisfactory experiences. However, the one time (last time) I had a real need that they agreed to help with, they failed to deliver. What was worse is the un professional and rude manner in which they did handled themselves. They lost this customer when they had an opportunity to create a loyal customer.

I return the next day when I get the "pick up your order" email, no one is at the pick up desk and no one responds to the bell. I wait awhile before giving up. I call the front desk and get the pick up/hang up. My card is charged for the shirt. I call customer service at the store twice this morning, still pick up/hang up. You need adequate staff who know the inventory, and answer calls. It can't be all "hello" at the front door.
