  Unfortunately for us, my fiancé bought my engagement ring at the jewelry counter at this store. When he went in to look at rings initially he planned to come in with me later to get it sized before purchasing. The woman at the counter urged him to make a purchase that day, assuring him that with JC Penney’s lifetime protection plan they could size it up to any size at all and that they would be able to do it instantly in store. I’m not sure why she lied to him, but obviously this is not true. After he proposed, the ring was too tight, so we took it in together for resizing. At this point we’re told that because of the style of the ring they may only be able to size it up a size or two, but she would put it in and they would try and that this process would take at least a month. We provided both our emails and phone numbers as contact points. What follows is dead silence from JC Penney. We get no confirmation, no updates whatsoever. Finally when we call them, we find out it’s been ready for weeks. Thanks for letting us know! There’s no apology from the store and of course they weren’t able to size it properly. Now we’re out several hundred dollars, and months into our engagement and I still don’t have a ring to wear. Stay away from JC Penny jewelry. You can’t trust the associates and the quality of service is abysmal.

  Bought two necklaces at the Somerset Kentucky Jcpenney’s with the Jcpenney‘s credit card2 to 3 days later I try to take back the merchandise to Lexington Jcpenney‘s with my receipt with the tag still on everything checked out the HR said the computers have been updated and will not recognize the receipt from the Somerset Jcpenney‘s with that being said I would not get my full return back the most they would be able to do is return without a receipt which means I would lose about $40 a hello what kind of shit is this be aware be aware getting so bad that you bow almost have to have the person with you try it on and make 100% sure you want to keep it before you buy it 3060 days return as long as you have the receipt and tag tags is a bunch of BS well at the Lexington one especially

  Waste of my time. Went to get pictures done. Was told it would be about 15 minutes. Walk back and the clerk is with other people and said "give me another 15 minutes".

  Yet another terrible customer service experience at JC Penny. They have sale signs for heated blankets up. They are separated into different areas by type. The sales signs have the price for all of the sizes of the same type of blanket. When checking out they were not ringing up the correct sale price. I took pictures and came back down to checkout again. This time the manager was helping me. She said she couldn’t just do a mark down. I said okay, follow me upstairs and I’ll show. Upon showing her 3 different signs for the 3 different types of blankets and prices she proceeeded to try to argue with me that the blanket I chose went with a different sign in a different area. The sign she tried claiming went with that blanket had a a name and sku number that matched the other blanket, the one that was next to that sign! Literally two different blankets with 2 different names and prices and she’s looking at me telling me the luxury blanket is the waffle Sherpa blanket. There is a sign for the waffle blankets next to all of the waffle blankets. There is a sign for the luxary blankets next to those blankets. There is a sign next to the cheaper option as well, just a plush heated blanket where all of those types of blankets are. I don’t understand the lack of understanding when it’s printed right in front of your eyes. There’s an entire section of blankets next to the sign for it. The manager was not able to show me a sign that matched what she was saying. Not have I ever worked for, shopped at, or heard of a retailer who refused to honor their own in store signs. Quite despicable.
