  Initially my experience at American eagle was pleasant, I tried on various jeans and the male associate running the dressing room was very attentive hence why I am rating two stars rather than one. It was once I reached check out where everything was fine until I tried to apply a 20 percent student discount. The associates called their manager for assistance and she automatically shut me down and said “we don’t take student discounts” I had to defend my case two/three times and she kept reiterating that student discounts weren’t allowed only military. It was until I mentioned I had a promo code, where she finally listened and tried inserting the code . I appreciated the fact that she tried but it also felt very forced. What was really the nail in the coffin was the fact I tried it another location AND online where the discount worked perfectly fine. I am disappointed in the lack of customer service especially from the manager on a non busy Monday afternoon.

  I went to the location at the Legends in search of jeans for my daughter. I walked in and saw two employees talking to each other and another person, while folding jeans (not sure if the other person was an employee). Neither employee greeted me or asked if I needed assistance, so I searched for the item on my own. I know they saw me walking the door because they looked at me and continued folding jeans and engaging in their conversation. At no point during my five minutes in the store was I acknowledged by them. Keep in mind, I had to pass the employees twice in order to look for sizes...still no acknowledgement. I ended up placing an order online and going to the store at Oak Park Mall to pick up what I needed. I refuse to spend my money in a store where an employee can’t take two seconds to say hello or ask if I need assistance. Very disappointed in the customer service.
