I bought 2 packages of Stafford Tshirts on April 2 of 2026 and I washed them and never wore and they are too big and I wanted to return them and I have my receipt on my phone and they refused to let me return them. I if I had bought at Kohls there would be question the would return them, no wonder Penney’s is about to go bankrupt. Very poor customer service. I would never consider using JC Penney in the future.

I had a very disappointing experience at JCPenney yesterday regarding a return. I came in with an item that was clearly within the stated 60-day return window, yet the associate at the return counter refused to process it. When I politely questioned this and mentioned the 60-day policy, I was told that the store “doesn’t have such a policy,” which directly contradicts what customers are told and what is publicly advertised.
What made the situation even more concerning is that she presented herself as a manager. If that is the case, it is especially troubling that someone in a leadership position would provide incorrect information and handle the situation in such an unprofessional and dismissive manner.
Instead of offering clarification or trying to resolve the issue, she was unhelpful and dismissive. As a customer, I expect clear, accurate information and respectful service especially from someone claiming to be in a management role.
This experience has seriously impacted my trust in JCPenney. If your policies are not being honored or your staff especially management are not properly trained, it creates confusion and frustration for customers. I strongly urge management to address this issue, ensure employees are properly informed about return policies, and reinforce basic standards of professionalism.
I hope this situation is taken seriously and corrected moving forward.
