Hands-down, my favorite place to shop. At 6’9,, SCHEELS is one of the very few places I can go, and find high-quality, apparel that is going to fit me perfectly. Nike, under Armour, Columbia, north face, etc. On top of that, their sport sports team apparel collection is second to none. I love that place

Heartbroken that the Scheels experience is going to completely change for the local community that has been supporting it for years because of the new sports complex. Thought it would just be parking headaches and bigger crowds but…went in today for our favorite Ginna’s cafe meals and the menu has turned into a concession stand for the sake of crowd control. I sympathize for the stress it will put on the cafe workers, but come on! And they just got gluten free menu items that are gone. No more ice cream with kids meals. No more salads, no more sandwiches. This may sound silly but our family loved having a meal here while shopping and playing. Beyond disappointed in this decision, it will surely reduce our trips here but I guess it won’t matter anyways…profit over feel good experiences!

First time visiting Scheels, and wow — what an experience! The giant aquarium at the entrance is absolutely stunning and such a fun surprise. Everything in the store is definitely on the pricey side (even the clearance racks had me laughing 🤣), but there’s no denying it’s an impressive place to browse. The Ferris wheel was really cool to see — though you definitely won’t catch me on it since heights and I are not friends! Overall, a great first visit and worth checking out at least once for the experience alone.

To enter Scheels is to abandon the comforts of civilization and step willingly into a retail wilderness vast and untamed, a cathedral of consumption where humanity wanders as bewildered explorers among artifacts of our own obsession. The automatic doors slide open like the gates to an ancient valley, and suddenly you are engulfed in commerce so sprawling it defies cartography. Here, the air is heavy with the dense musk of synthetic fabrics and unrealized athletic ambition. I walked its aisles as a lone traveler might traverse tundra, each department its own unforgiving ecosystem. There are shoes as far as the eye can see, not simply footwear, but thousands of rubber-soled dreams lined like silent sentinels. Fishing rods hang like spears for a forgotten tribe; rifles gleam under museum lights, tools for small gods who hunt meaning in the wild. In the distance, children shriek in delight as they ride a Ferris wheel with no horizon, spinning in defiance of gravity and reason, tiny souls chasing a joy that adulthood has long since surrendered. I stood before an endless wall of insulated water bottles, each one promising hydration and immortality, and felt the weight of choice press upon me like the cold hand of fate. A mannequin dressed in camouflage stared past me, face empty and fixed, as if contemplating the absurdity of being visible only here, in this retail jungle, and nowhere in nature. The clerks wander like park rangers, courteous, knowledgeable, but clearly aware that none of us will ever truly master this landscape. We are visitors here, soft-bellied creatures wandering an environment built to remind us of what we are not: capable, rugged, free. Yet there is beauty in this bewildering place, a kind of quiet awe in knowing that humanity, desperate and restless, created a monument to its longing for adventure, then stocked it with socks and kayaks and a taxidermied buffalo. Scheels is not merely a store; it is a frontier. A reminder that despite our maps and lights and phones, we remain wanderers staring into the abyss, seeking meaning among golf simulators and $400 windbreakers. Five stars. For the terror. For the wonder. And for the Ferris wheel that spins not to entertain, but to remind us that existence itself is a loop, mysterious, dizzying, and inescapably absurd.
