- JMJessica MurphyDec 20, 20253.0It’s nice to see J.Crew back at Oakbrook Mall. The new store is lovely and the staff was kind, but I expected a more elevated customer experience from a brand of this size. The children’s section is very limited, and multiple associates were unsure about current sale details. We were directed to an item we thought was 50 percent off, only to learn it was full price at checkout. We also noticed deeper discounts online than in store, something we have experienced at other J.Crew locations as well. While they did honor a price adjustment, online and in store promotions should be better aligned. Overall, a beautiful space with friendly staff, but clearer communication would greatly improve the experience. UPDATE: When we returned to Oakbrook for the price adjustment, it was not honored because we didn’t bring the product in (we only had receipt). J.Crew on Bond Street in NYC was able to accommodate a price adjustment via phone for the same issue in the past.

I was working with an associate to find a petite size online, but didn’t realize that another associate was mocking me behind my back until I turned around. So much for shopping at brick and mortar.
