  I experienced a warranty situation that presented return issues originally, but AS representative Jody was able to pleasantly assess and process the transaction to my satisfaction. Jody is an asset that AS should endeavor to retain.

  Nice variety of shoes.just be prepared to look for what you need.you ask,they point and they move on.with one exception, rick waited on us and made a nice sale.thanks rick

  My son and I visited Academy Sports + Outdoors to look at firearms. We are both properly licensed, so there should have been no issue assisting us. From the moment we approached the counter, the service was unacceptable. We waited approximately 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. When an employee finally did, it was in passing..simply asking how we were doing while continuing to walk away. There was no offer to assist us, no “How can I help you?” and no attempt to provide actual customer service. After waiting an additional 10–15 minutes with no help, I had to walk to the front register myself to request assistance. When someone finally came over, I asked a basic question about the firearm. The employee briefly removed the magazine, then quickly put it back without properly presenting the firearm or allowing us to view it. When I stated that we wanted to actually see the firearm, the situation escalated in a very concerning way. The store manager then claimed that we “smelled like weed,” which was both false and completely inappropriate. I work in healthcare, do not smoke and there is absolutely no basis for that accusation. When I challenged that statement, Tyler (team lead) stated that they could refuse service “for any reason.” My son (21) and I were the only Black customers at the counter. He has dreadlocks, and based on the progression of events being ignored, inadequately assisted, and then falsely accused.. it raises serious concern about whether race and appearance played a role in how we were treated. The accusation felt like a stereotype used to justify denying us service. This experience was disrespectful, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Customers should not be ignored, falsely accused, or made to feel discriminated against. I will not be returning to this location, and I strongly encourage management to address both customer service and bias within their staff.

  Shameful customer service. The greeter was extremely rude. I had limited time and just came in to make a shoe purchase, and he was suspicious of my one-item Walmart plastic bag. I ended up leaving without a purchase because he was so offensive. I will not be returning to this store. Don’t treat your customers like dirt. I’m actually furious at his audacity.
