    This review is specifically for Sarah from Portraits. We came in for family photos and we had a very large group and she was so so great!! She was very good at getting us setup and moving us through each shot. She also really knew the best poses. Highly recommend!!

    I just had the most horrible customer service experience at JCPenney photography studio in Golf Mill Mall. The photographer Danna was extremely rude & condescending. She refused to honor a discount price of wall art canvases, which were all on sale on JCPenney’s website. Danna tried to upsell me by giving me different pricing & trying to push $700 bundle. I kept telling her to just honor my coupon price for the digital album of $179.00 with $100 off, and 50% off wall art. As well as, the sale price of the canvas online. Danna kept refusing to honor the sale price, she claimed that it’s impossible to go into the system to change the price. Danna didn’t even know the actual policy & terms of the sale online. She kept lying to me saying it’s some coupon of $50. There is absolutely no coupon for the sale price online. All of the wall art canvases of any size were discounted on sale! I then asked her to please call a manager, which she proceeded to refuse to call a manager. I again asked her to please call any manager from any other department, again she refused! I asked her to write down her name, and her managers name & phone number, once more refused to do so. I had to ask her multiple times to write down their names & number. I finally just told her to check me out & that I will follow up with a manager. Danna again refused to check me out & told me I need to wait for another photographer to finish their active session to check me out! Keep in mind I have a 3 year old toddler & a 5 month old baby screaming & crying. You could imagine my frustration as I’m trying to just get out of there & take my kids home. The other photographer came out to help me & I hear Danna tell the photographer as she’s trying to show her the discount sale prices online “I’m not sure what sale or coupon is going on online”! Oh OK Danna, so if you’re not sure of your own policy & sales of the company you work for then why was she adamant in denying me the online sales-price? She was so confident in trying to feed me lies about a certain coupon! Danna is so incompetent, tactless & rude! She had such a snobby, pompous attitude, & was so confident in the info she was trying to feed me. Danna should never obtain another position in customer service. The fact that I had two crying children in my arms, & she was so content with the atrocious service she provided me with. Danna should be so ashamed of herself! Luckily, as I was walking out I ran into one of the managers at JCP, a lovely woman by the name of Janet. I explained to Janet what had just transpired at the photo studio, and Janet assured me Danna was absolutely in the wrong! Per Janet, Danna should have honored the online sale price. Janet also took my phone number & assured me that she will discuss this matter with Danna’s manager, and that someone should be calling me to refund me. Danna’s job was to deescalate the matter not further escalating it by being so concerned about her own ego rather than making the customer happy. Take this as a warning STAY AWAY from Danna at Golf Mill photo studio in Nile’s. She’s a super slow photographer and not great with kids! Especially since she didn’t care that my kids were crying when she walked away from me as I was trying to check out! Danna purposely wanted to inconvenience me even further ! Danna, your behavior is absolutely despicable & disgusting! JCP as a company should be mortified to have such an employee work for them. Get rid of her! I’ve been a JCP customer for over 20 years, and I have never been treated in such a manner. I’m still in shock! Do better Danna & JCP!

    This is for the portrait center. Arrived 10min before our scheduled appointment. We were told it would be an hour and a half + wait for a SCHEDULED appointment and we would only be able to use one background instead of two. No heads up call/text for the delay. There were a ton of people waiting and staff seemed frantic. No hate to the staff but clearly their appointment times need to be updated and some updated policies like updating you on wait times since appointments mean nothing. We had to get multiple family members schedules to line up and get a toddler ready so that long of a wait was just not possible.

    I placed an order today and within an hour, I found the item for a cheaper price from a different site. I called JCPenney to cancel the order (again, less than an hour from when I placed the order) and they would not allow me to cancel. I was told that their system locks them out after 30 minutes so they cannot cancel or modify orders. So essentially, it is a trap because they believe people are lazy and will just accept this. It is no wonder to me that JCP is struggling. Well, I'm not lazy. I placed the order through the other site and as soon as I receive my item from JCP, I will be returning it. I was told they would price match once I received the item (Cyber Monday deals will not still be going on by the time I get the item...and they know that!) So, instead of them getting some of my money, they will be returning ALL of my money. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL POLICIES! Won't catch me shopping there again...I remember how much I loved it when I was a kid. Man how things change! Update 12/11/2025 I received the package a few days ago but did not even open it because I knew I was returning it. I went to the location to return it and when they opened the package to do the return, the item was the wrong size. I ordered size 13s for my Dad and the shoes were a size 7.5. JCPenney just doesn't care anymore and it's very clear.
