  The Asian manager is the worst horrible service. Madewell needs to replace all their managers. Hire new people. Probably don’t make their sales due to managers like her.

  I went here to return an item I bought online which was made with very cheap cotton and was piling and threadbare after only two wears. They wouldn't accept the return, just a "it's not eligible" without any follow up questions. I went online and explained the situation and they accepted the return and sent me a shipping label. I asked if I could drop it off in the store and the online support said "no, they won't accept it". What the heck is going on here? These aren't franchises, are they? This kind of two-tiered support punishes less sophisticated customers. It's essentially a tax on the shy and the elderly.

  I came in for a pair of jeans, and Emalyn and Sofia went above and beyond to help me. They looked up my previous order because I loved one of the pair and bought the other pair, but it didn't work out as well. They spent a lot of time with me to help me pick a pair of jeans that fit well and that I loved. They really went on a jean journey with me and will definitely be back!

  I called and the manager was extremely rude the way she answered. Madewell needs to change management, especially at this store.

  Love their bags, but going into this store is a whole thing. If you ask for something and don't end up buying it, they get mad at you and act very rudely lol (depends on who is working though, of course, but the last couple times this happened and it deterred me from buying the item in-store at all). The salesmanship is a bit aggressive. Also, this store has half the sale section that the websites or other locations have, so for the best selection, I go online to shop. Edited to add: upon reading other reviews it seems like there's a pattern of this sort of behavior to POC - Madewell should probably address this before they get canceled, because that would definitely turn me & other loyal customers off to the brand entirely. It's 2025 and this is in Chicago, so it's on them to get it together.
