- CCC.A.M.Jul 14, 20254.0Vans corporate has kneecapped the physical Vans store experience. There used to be 3 or 4 Vans stores in downtown Chicago and now there's 1 mediocre one. There are for the most part better deals on Vans' own website than in-store. If you know your shoe size and know you want Authentics or Old-Skools then there's really not a great reason to ever visit. The only upside is Vans' website sucks so if your device freezes up every time you use it you might be able to go in store and find what you're looking for. Sales associates walk around and are eager to help, A+ to them. Vans is unfortunately a shell of their former selves after a series of poor corporate decisions. Which is unfortunately I and many people I know grew up with the brand.
