I am truly delighted to write this review for Van Cleef & Arpels Chicago, and especially for Aidan.
I visited this boutique after a somewhat disappointing experience at another Van Cleef location in Florida, and from the moment my husband and I stepped into the Chicago boutique, the experience was completely transformed. Aidan welcomed us with genuine warmth, respect, and enthusiasm without knowing whether we were there to make a purchase at all. That alone spoke volumes.
We came in knowing exactly what we were looking for, and Aidan handled everything with effortless professionalism and care. What followed was an experience that went far beyond expectations. Because of the trust and comfort he created, I went on to purchase several additional pieces from my wish list over the following months. Even while preparing for his own vacation, Aidan remained attentive, responsive, and thoughtful, which truly reflects the exceptional level of care he provides.
Every visit to the boutique, and every interaction with Aidan, has been met with the same consistency, attention to detail, and genuine kindness.
He is truly the "crème de la crème" a client advisor we deeply trust and value. I am very particular about my pieces and how I like things done, and my husband shared this with Aidan. He immediately understood my preferences, ensuring everything was done with care and attention to detail....something I truly appreciated.
When you invest in luxury, you expect an extraordinary experience. For me, the experience matters just as much if not more than the piece itself. Aidan has a rare, genuine way of making you feel cared for, understood, and valued. His kindness, thoughtfulness, professionalism, and warmth have made me even more loyal to the Van Cleef & Arpels brand.

I visited Van Cleef in Chicago on the magnificent mile and the store was very unwelcoming. It was single digit cold outside and because I was 4 mins early for my appointment they refused to let us in. Barely cracked open door to say I’m 4 mins early and cannot come into the store. Very rude and cold service. Never received reply from store after complaining which shows they don’t value any potential client.

“Special shout-out to Ashley… for never acknowledging me.”
If Google allowed 0 stars, this place would proudly earn NO star. Not even half a star. Nothing.
I arrived exactly at my 1:00 PM appointment — the same appointment that Ashley personally texted me about yesterday to confirm what I wanted. You’d think after confirming everything, she’d be ready for me, right?
Nope.
First, I was left standing outside in the freezing cold like I was trying to enter a VIP club with the wrong shoes. They didn’t ask my name, didn’t ask if I had an appointment — just let me freeze for a full minute. Apparently, checking the weather was more urgent than checking me in.
Finally got inside… just to wait another 8 minutes on the couch.
I told another staff member, “My husband is waiting in the car. I know exactly what I want. I’m here to pick it up, pay, and leave.”
And guess what?
They said, “No, you have to wait for Ashley.”
Meanwhile, half the staff looked completely free. But apparently, only Lady Ashley holds the sacred key to giving me the item I already told her I wanted.
And now… the highlight:
Ashley — the same Ashley who texted me yesterday — never even looked at me.
No eye contact.
No “Hi, give me one second.”
Not even a head nod.
And the funny part?
• When I don’t have an appointment → they won’t let me in.
• When I do have an appointment → they still won’t let me in.
So… what exactly does this boutique want?
Customers? Or silence and an empty showroom?
Because they are doing an amazing job at chasing people away.
I left. I’ll buy online.
At least the website doesn’t ignore me — even the checkout button responds immediately.
ZERO stars. Absolutely NO STAR. And extra NO STAR for Ashley.

I had the best experience at Van Cleef & Arpels Chicago. Helen helped me, and she was absolutely wonderful — kind, attentive, and truly professional. The service was perfect from start to finish.
A special thank you for the extra chocolates for my son — that small gesture really made my day 😊 I know this boutique doesn’t need reviews, but I just wanted to say thank you to Helen for understanding exactly what I was looking for.
Can’t wait to come back for my second bracelet! 💛

My experience visiting van cleef in Chicago was awful. I visited this location traveling from out of town Saturday October 4th around 12:45pm. The lady working that afternoon (foreign decent) stood in the doorway and asked me what I needed (refused to allow me to enter). I explained to her that I had called Van Cleef following a recent purchase of a necklace to get an extender added to make my necklace longer, I was instructed to visit a nearby store to receive further assistance. The lady then proceeds to shut the door leaving my children outside. I asked was there a problem she stated no but proceeds to tell me I could either leave my necklace there for two weeks or order an extender from AMAZON!!! why would I order a $5 extender for a $4000 necklace. It was very rude and discriminatory. I will be contacting corporate to further discuss my awful experience.
