From the moment I said “excuse me” to get her attention, she responded with a noticeably rude attitude, and the interaction only escalated from there. I asked whether she could check the availability of an item at other store locations, and she abruptly told me that I would need to wait in the checkout line. When I explained that I was not ready to check out yet, she rolled her eyes and walked away without a word. I immediately reported this to the manager on duty, who was professional and helpful. The manager assisted me right away, confirming the item was in stock at another location, and ensured I could continue shopping before heading to checkout. Their response was appreciated. My hope is that the employee is coached on how to communicate with customers because the behavior I experienced was completely unnecessary. As a frequent Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack shopper, I have always been accustomed to staff who are welcoming, attentive, and committed to supporting customers who are choosing to shop with them. This experience fell far below that standard.
