- KKKinza KDec 17, 20252.0Love their bags, but going into this store is a whole thing. If you ask for something and don't end up buying it, they get mad at you and act very rudely lol (depends on who is working though, of course, but the last couple times this happened and it deterred me from buying the item in-store at all). The salesmanship is a bit aggressive. Also, this store has half the sale section that the websites or other locations have, so for the best selection, I go online to shop. Edited to add: upon reading other reviews it seems like there's a pattern of this sort of behavior to POC - Madewell should probably address this before they get canceled, because that would definitely turn me & other loyal customers off to the brand entirely. It's 2025 and this is in Chicago, so it's on them to get it together.

- JJJamieKbutterflySep 24, 20251.0I had a similar experience as some below. I went in on a week night. The shorter girl working there was too busy chatting with someone to bother, no one greeted me. I found things on my own and went into a fitting room by myself and at this point there were two employees there and I was the only customer. I went to check out and had an issue with my credit card. The manager girl I assume came over to cancel the transaction and was extremely rude. I apologized on my way out of the store for the inconvenience even though I still purchased items and she gave me the dirtiest look and said absolutely nothing. I have worked in retail before and even on a bad day I would never treat someone like that. I don't care how hard it can be to find help, don't have people like her representing your store. It has completely turned me off to Madewell as a brand.

Olivia was super helpful in finding the exact same style based on my description of the fit and helped with sizing since that style is known to stretch. 5 stars for the customer service! One thing I noticed in the store was that the fitting room smelled a bit like mold and mildew. I figured the carpet probably needed replacing from people going in with wet shoes. However, when I got home I realized that both pairs of jeans I purchased smelled VERY strongly so I think the store might have a mold issue. I’m going to wash and keep the pairs I bought but probably would be cautious to shop at this location again.
