  I struggled with whether to leave this review. I’m not a “review person.” I’ve only ever left one other review (and that was for the realtor who helped us buy our first dream home). But I realized my frustration with Daniel George was misplaced, and that I owed him this. Nearly two years ago, my wedding was just a couple months away. I had repeatedly reassured my then-fiancé that my one job – getting a tux – was handled. It was not. In a mild panic, I reached out to several clothiers. A few responded. I met with some. But the moment I walked into Daniel’s showroom, I knew he was the right choice. I can’t tell you exactly why; maybe the space, maybe the fact that he didn’t push the priciest option, but I felt immediately at ease. Daniel was, however, absolutely insistent about one thing: pant placement. I’m a bigger guy, and I’ve always worn my pants well below my belly button. So, when he told me my tux pants needed to sit much higher, I shut it down. This was bespoke, after all. Shouldn’t I decide where my pants sit? Instead of arguing, Daniel made me an offer: he’d make two pairs of pants at his cost, one my way, one his, and asked only that I try both at the fitting. Fast forward: he was 100% right. His version made me look taller, slimmer and sharper than I’d ever looked. And while nothing could overshadow my beautiful bride, I came surprisingly close. I’ve never received so many compliments on an outfit, and more importantly, I’ve never felt that confident in my own clothes. Which leads to my “frustration”: after the wedding, I couldn’t wear any of my old suits. Daniel ruined my entire wardrobe. Everything felt wrong, especially those low-sitting pants I used to swear by. So, before I even wrote thank-you notes, I booked my next appointment. Two years later, Daniel has made me several suits, even more sport coats and a stack of dress shirts. In other words, he has financially ruined me. But he’s given me confidence I didn’t know clothes could provide. And that’s why I’m writing this, because I genuinely hope you get to experience what I did. Go see (my now good friend) Daniel George. It will be one of the best decisions you make for yourself.

  I don’t normally write reviews, but Daniel George absolutely deserves one. My husband has been going to them for years and consistently walks out looking like the best-dressed version of himself—so naturally, I wanted in on the magic. I asked if they could craft a unique blazer for me, and the piece they created was nothing short of exceptional: impeccable tailoring, beautiful detailing, and craftsmanship you just don’t see anymore. Daniel and Justin deliver customer service that feels from a time when it truly mattered—warm, attentive, and sincerely invested in getting everything just right. A proper haberdasher through and through.

  I recently ordered a custom blazer from this company for my daughter’s wedding, and it exceeded every expectation.   I’ve been to both Daniel George and Nicholas Joseph and decided to test both by making a jacket at the same exact time. Nothing from Daniel George came back fitting well, even after multiple attempts. Nicholas Joseph was superior in every way, from the ease of scheduling, to the customer service, along with the follow up and minor alterations to find that perfect fit. I ordered more from Nicholas Joseph, to include custom shirts and additional jackets which have all been impeccable. Speaking of custom shirts, NJ allows you to select every detail including the material, pattern, and length- something DG doesn’t do. So if you’re looking at different bespoke places in Chicago, Daniel George is not it- look elsewhere- I would recommend Nicholas Joseph down the street. Edit: I was being polite in my review, I think the personal attacks in their response sum things up. And there was a reason I mentioned “at the exact same time”- one organization was able to easily adjust, the other would rather cast blame. As for the money back guarantee- it states 4 months and it has been longer than that. After reaching out and being asked to come in, I’d rather not deal with this further and will just move on- keep the money, I’ll donate the shirts, and best of luck in the future. Thanks.
