  Review for DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse (Algonquin) Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ I had an incredibly disappointing and unprofessional encounter at this location today. I attempted to return a pair of Nike slides that I had purchased just yesterday from the McHenry store because they left red marks on my son’s feet after only five minutes of wear around the house. When I approached the register, the associate, Cerena, refused the return, claiming the shoes were "too damaged" to resell. When I explained the situation and pointed out that I had the receipt from less than 24 hours ago, she responded with a completely uncalled-for personal jab, saying, “Your house must be pretty rough if this is what they look like after five minutes.” I was shocked by the blatant disrespect. It is not an associate's place to make judgmental comments about a customer’s home. To make matters worse, after I insisted on the return, she told me she would process it but claimed I would be put on a "permanent list" of people who return damaged goods. While I eventually got the exchange handled, the experience was hovering on harassment. Using intimidation tactics and insults is no way to treat loyal customers. I’ll be taking my business back to the McHenry location or elsewhere from now on. Management seriously needs to address the conduct of the staff at this branch.

  Horrible experience for returns. It was a nightmare. It was as simple as returning some shoes and placing a new order for the correct size so I thought. Until I left with 10 different receipts because the employee ordered me the same exact shoe that I was returning and they told me they were able to cancel the order they messed up on and that was not true. Now I have 2 of the same shoes different sizes getting shipped to me and I now have to wait for those shoes to get delivered in order to return and get my money back. So unprofessional on their part. Very unsatisfied. I wouldn’t recommend coming to this location unless you want to waste your time and wait a week to get your money back for their mistake.

  Good selection of shoes. Nice , helpful staff
