Since 1987, Beadology Iowa has offered a line of in-house finished jewelry, a broad inventory line and an exciting and ever changing options for jewelry making classes. Our inventory include glass, stone, metal, organic, Swarovski crystal, pearls, stringing materials, tools, lampworking supplies, metal working supplies, and many beading components. Classes include seed bead weaving, wirework, stringing, chainmaille, metal working, and lampworking.

I found some great items and was going back on Wednesday but work schedule wouldn't allow it. I love that they gave classes and feature an artist. When in Iowa city check them out.

The people are beyond welcoming and are always happy to help you understand a new technique or get started on a project. The classes have a wide variety of things to learn and offer a relaxing afternoon with a community of crafting regulars. They have open crafting on Thursdays where you can bring your own project to work on and chat with folks. The selection of glass beads, stone beads, supplies, and jewelry made by staff is top notch, too. Pushing is easy, with meters and a ramp nearby. Truly, a third space that makes the town better. Viva la bead shop.
