Boesen the Florist has a long history of providing exceptional floral design and superior service to our customers in Des Moines, West Des Moines, Ankeny, and the surrounding areas. Our flower shop opened in 1923 and is currently run by the third generation of our family. We have evolved from a small shop on Beaver Avenue to a large 60,000 square feet design facility with seven greenhouses, a distribution center, and retail space.

The flowers and accompanying leafy things were wrapped in a ribbon and duct tape and just stuck into a vase. I cut off the ribbon and duct tape, trimmed the bottoms, and repositioned in the vase. No flower food included, nothing freshly cut, the bottoms were slimy before trimming. Everything was dead by Friday (4 days later) and thrown in the garbage. Employee personally attended, took in the back to “box it up for you” and still didn’t make sure they took off the duct tape and just dunked the ribbon right in the vase of water, didn’t trim or prepare anything. Flowers from Hy-Vee last 2-3 weeks. Don’t waste your money here.

We asked if she could make up something pretty to go with black and tan. She said she could put together cream flowers with black ribbon/bows. I thought that sounded great. My husband went to pick them up, and I wish I would have went myself. I wouldn't have paid. I could have cut off a flower out of the neighbor's yard and made something so much prettier. She basically gave us one plain white flower with no ribbons or bows or added anything. We paid $55 for that...Super frustrating.
