  Just pulled up ready to buy some Oakley's and store closed in front of my eyes before i could ask the cost of the shades. It’s 5:40; online says open until 8.

  Al, the employee that helped me with purchasing the sunglasses is very professional, helpful, and friendly. Al guide me on the different types of specs and enhancements of each sunglasses and told me which sunglasses would best fit with my face and lifestyle. I really appreciate Al's experience and expertise of sunglasses. I went home satisfied and appreciative of my sunglasses and Al's expertise. He made my day!

  I’m genuinely shocked by the level of unprofessionalism at the Kahala Mall Sunglass Hut—specifically from an employee named Frank. My dad went in recently because a lens from his sunglasses (purchased at this location with Sunglass Hut coverage) randomly popped out and shattered. They were in perfect condition otherwise. Frank handled the situation strangely from the start, brushing him off and saying they couldn’t replace the lens—even with coverage—and instead had to order from a third party. While paying, Frank suddenly asked to see my dad’s ID after the card was already in the reader—something that felt unnecessary and out of place, like he was looking for a reason not to help. A few days later, after thinking it through, my dad realized he didn’t want the replacement lenses at all. Not only were they a totally different green color and not Maui Jim quality, but the whole situation just felt off. Despite being told he’d get a call when the lenses arrived, no one ever reached out. When my dad followed up, Frank told him the lenses were there—but when he asked to return them, Frank suddenly claimed he was having “technical difficulties” and couldn’t process it. Then he stopped responding entirely. My dad called other locations to clarify what was going on, and Kalakaua Sunglass Hut confirmed the system can’t be down if the phones are working. So not only was Frank being dismissive and difficult—he was also caught in a lie. At this point, our entire family has tried calling Kahala’s location. Sometimes Frank picks up and hangs up immediately. Other times, the phone rings endlessly. We even had a friend tell us they had a similarly rude and uncomfortable experience with him. Sunglass Hut usually has amazing customer service, but this experience was the complete opposite. Frank clearly doesn’t want to help customers and seems determined to make things as difficult as possible. I really hope corporate investigates this—because no one should be treated this way, especially when they paid for extra protection.

  Great service The gal behind the counter went above and beyond to help me find more glasses to fit my face shape and preferences. Nice to have a better idea of what to look for
