  Been in store today and used an e-gift card to pay. Trudi was excellent and such a great help, she supported me to use the gift card on the self checkout and also encouraged my daughter to have a go at scanning items, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Massive thanks to Trudi 🩷

  We have no complaints about the cleanliness and order of the store or products. It was a pleasant place to shop in that sense. But.. we bought a pair of shoes that was on a shelving marked up as 50% off. There were other sizes of the same shoes too, so we obviously presumed that they were included in the offer, only to discover at the till that they were full price. We paid for them on self checkout but went over to the tills to query it. It was a very nice young lad who was clearly new and obviously didn't quite know what to say to us and how to deal with the query. (Understandably). But right next to him bending down sorting hangers in a cupboard was the manager. She looked up at us a couple of times but didn't once intervene to help the poor boy out and speak to us herself. (Clearly avoiding us). It was a simple query nothing more. Disgraceful behaviour and very unfair on the poor young lad, who we felt the need to apologise to, for complaining to him as it was clearly not something he should have had to try and deal with so inexperienced. Especially with a manager right beside him and other members of staff. This has to be the first negative review I have ever given, but felt so strongly about this.

  Sue is lovely and was very kind in helping out with a refund that had been causing some trouble. She listened to the problem attentively, was sincere and apologetic and made the process straightforward. She is a great asset to the store and delivered the best customer service I've experienced from matalan.

  Went there in this heat. Zero air-conditioning. Zero fans running. It was hotter inside than in the 36c direct 🌞 sun☀️ We were all dripping wet with sweat. Really bad. Oh and we were warned by other shoppers NOT To go in the changing rooms as to massive heat and the very bad smell.
