  We visited Matalan yesterday, my husband chose some items of clothing.(£70). He went to the till to wait for me to join him. He felt unwell ( he is 78 and currently been treated for kidney disease.) He couldn’t find a chair so he rested on the edge of a bed near to the till. He was approached by a very rude and arrogant shop attendant who didn’t ask him if he was ok! She told him it was not acceptable to sit on the edge of the bed. He said he couldn’t find a seat, she said it is not their policy to provide seats. He left his clothing items and we both left the store without a purchase.

  We went into the Malvern store today. I wanted to return something I had bought on line. Ben who served us was very friendly and extremely helpful. He sorted it all out for me and got my refund. Thank you Ben.

  In my experience, the quality of the products is below expectations, and the store appears poorly maintained. Management seems to pay limited attention to store standards and customer comfort. The ground-floor restroom and the mothers’ and baby care area have been unavailable for approximately two years. Management attention appears to be focused more on monitoring customers via cameras than on providing direct assistance. Prices often seem higher than expected, with discounts later advertised. In several cases, promotions such as “50% off” appeared to result in a smaller actual reduction. This can be confusing and may affect customer trust. The store also shows signs of technical wear, including damaged emergency exit thresholds, loose moldings, and general neglect.

  Came into store yesterday to return an item which I’d ordered online. There was only one person on the checkout with an extremely long queue of customers. There were staff walking around as though they didn’t want to be there not one of them offered to help the girl behind the checkout. Can I suggest that maybe having more staff available to help out on a busy Saturday afternoon would be beneficial.
