- CCChrissyJul 8, 20263.0I visited the Sunglass Hut in Guildford on 7 July to ask if my sunglasses could be adjusted, as they had become a little loose. A lady with dark hair explained that the adjustment machine was broken, which I completely understood and I was happy to leave then. She gave me some useful information about my sunglasses, sizing and how to wear them properly. I appreciated that part of the interaction. However, what left a negative impression was the way I was spoken to. I had my sunglasses resting on top of my head, and she repeatedly commented that they were “an expensive headband” etc. I now understand I should not wear them that way, but repeating it several times came across as patronising rather than helpful. I left quickly feeling embarrassed and low in mood and as though I was being spoken down to because I am young. Advice is always welcome and I am thankful for her advice , but there’s a difference between educating a customer and making them feel belittled. I rarely leave reviews and I am sorry it’s not a completely good one
