  Wonderful experience at Mappin and Webb Gleneagles. Staff are delightful, helpful and friendly. Lesley was on hand to help with my purchases, all the staff are lovely, can't wait for my next visit.

  Had fantastic service today when I popped in to have an additional link added to my watch strap. Robbie could not have been more helpful. its not very often in todays world I leave a retail experience pleasantly surprised.

  My girlfriend and I were staying at the Gleneagles hotel celebrating her birthday. We both went into Mappin and Webb this morning to enquire about a Cartier watch she was gifted the previous evening. The receptionist staff assured us this would not be a problem, and told us they would likely be able to help. We both waited in the shop for about 10 minutes, with no acknowledgment of our presence from any of the employees. So, eventually I attempted to ask whether they were able to take some links off of the bracelet. Granted, both members of staff were occupied with other customers, so I waited until an acceptable time to ask a simple question, however it became apparent that the appointments would not be ending any time soon. I interrupted, making a conscious effort to not be rude or intrusive, but this was not reciprocated. When I asked whether they could provide the service, the man with the questionable haircut replied bluntly “I’m in an appointment” I apologised and asked when a suitable time to come back would be, he replied “I’m in an appointment”. The customer didn’t seem to mind as I only very briefly interrupted. I assume I was treated this way because I didn’t look like his typical customer (young and underdressed). The interaction was condescending and embarrassing, something that could have easily been avoided. What was a lovely weekend ended on a very sour note. This afternoon we went into Laings in Edinburgh and were treated completely differently. We were treated exactly how you would expect in a high end watch establishment. The staff were immediately very friendly and unassuming, something I now appreciate much more than I did this morning.

  Over the moon with my experience at Mappin & Webb Gleneagles. Elaine is incredibly knowledgeable and looked after us so well. She made purchasing my new timepiece a smooth and enjoyable process.
